Anglo American BlastProx app
After being part of the launch of one of Anglo American’s HENC suite of apps. Hellocomputer was tasked to create and test a new app that focuses on Blast Awareness.
To enhance Anglo American’s mine blasting safety regulations, this app helps keep visitors safely out of the blasting radius and allows users to record and capture information on blast radii based on Fly-rock locations. Designed using native UI and GPS tracking, the app shows visitors/employees (to the applicable Anglo American mines) information about planned blasts as well as their proximity to these blasts.
After user interviews and iterating through user flows and high fidelity wireframes, we were then taken on site to one of the mines where we were able to test the prototype with Anglo American employees to test functionality and usability on location.
As a result, the app was able to provide crucial, life saving information that continues to help Anglo American keep their employees, visitors and surrounding areas safe.
